"Photos should speak for itself" shares Sivagurunathan, Senior Photo Journalist of Dinamalar.

The initiative by the Coimbatore Press Club to nurture the budding Journalists in the city by conducting workshop through established Journalists has proved to be very successful. The workshop has reached it's 9th session, in which experienced Photo Journalist, Sivagurunathan from Dinamalar, took part and shared his insights about "Photo Journalism".

In the interaction session with the young journalists, Sivagurunathan shared that "While the job of the Journalist is to gather the news in depth, the Photo Journalist is assigned with the task of capturing photos in the most creative way. The photos should speak for itself".

"Unlike these days were everything is digital, those days we used film rolls to capture photos, and believe me it wasn't that an easy task" he said while sharing some nostalgic memories from the past.

'And, more importantly, those photo journalists who are handling beats like sports should be aware of the subject. An in-depth knowledge in the subject will help them capture outstanding 'clicks', he added.

Senior Photo Journalist Sivagurunathan also gently warned the budding journalist to stay collected and be aware of sensitive situations while trying to capture pictures.

The session proved to be an eye-opener for the emerging journalists who appreciated the Press club for hosting such informative workshops. Subbu, Treasurer of Coimbatore Press club thanked and presented a memento to Sivagurunathan, Senior Photo Journalist of Dinamalar for sharing his insights.
